Who are the Midnight Mystery Players?

The Midnight Mystery Players were founded in December 2004 to provide radio drama programming for KMRE-LP, 102.3 FM, a low-power station which began broadcasting in 2005 from the American Museum of Radio and Electricity in Bellingham, Washington.
Each week KMRE broadcasts a story dramatized by the Midnight Mystery Players. Some are comedies, such as My Favorite Wife, or The Reformer and the Redhead; some are dramas, such as At Midnight on the 31st of March or The Tenth Planet; and there are mysteries, tales of suspense and thrillers, as well, such as The Thin Man, Cabin B-13 and Tales of Arch Oboler. In addition to re-creating the fabulous radio programs of the past, the MMP also bring to life classical tales of the theater, and new, locally created works as well.

The Midnight Mystery Players regularly record in the studios of KMRE, but also perform in front of live audiences in the auditorium of the American Museum of Radio and Electricity. Check our Events link to see if there's an upcoming show you'd like to attend and see live radio created before your eyes, complete with sound effects created on the spot. The MMP also venture out into the community, performing for audiences at the Bellingham Country Club, the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue and Orcas Center on Orcas Island, among other spots. If you think your group, school or organization would enjoy watching a radio drama created, use the Contact Us link here on our site -- we'd love to perform for you!
